floydmayweather-NFL players and Professional athletes have given their “take” on the Ray/Janay Rice incident. One athlete, however, has a different opinion on the situation.

According to Hip Hop Wired and MLive, Floyd Mayweather blasts the NFL for being too harsh on the player.

“Money” Mayweather spoke from Las Vegas during a press event ahead of his upcoming rematch this Saturday against Marcos Maidana. Mayweather says that the NFL should have stuck to its word and not let the latest video footage sway its decision in exiling Rice from football.

From MLive:

“They had said that they had suspended him for two games. Whether they saw the tape or not, I truly believe a person should stick to their word. If you tell me you’re going to do something, do what you say you’re going to do. But once again, I’m not in the NFL, so I can’t really speak on the situation.

Mayweather couldn’t help himself from this point forward, taking a very sympathetic bent towards the former Baltimore Ravens running back.

“I know he’s probably going through a lot right now because football is his passion, football is his love,” continued Mayweather. He also addressed his own domestic violence incidents in the discussion. “I don’t really focus on that stuff,” Mayweather said. “You know, I’ve been facing so many obstacles throughout my life. My main thing is to just focus on my job, which is boxing.”

Good idea, Floyd…..
