When Season 7 rolls around for the wildly popular Bravo reality show “Real Housewives of Atlanta” (RHOA) you will see some changes to the show’s casting, according to USA Today.
Fan favorite and youngest cast member Porsha Williams‘ (pictured with curls) role has been minimized to that of a friend who occasionally pops up on the show. When Williams joined the cast of divas back in 2012, she brought all kinds of drama and hilarity. Williams, whose last name was “Stewart” at the time she began filming “RHOA,” was married to former NFL star Kordell Stewart. The dynamics of their relationship brought an interesting take to the show: Soon after, the pair was in the throes of a nasty and much-publicized divorce, and fans tuned in to see what juicy morsels about the relationship Williams would divulge.
Williams also gave fans a chuckle with her verbal faux pas that oftentimes became news items the very next day.
Back on the Atlanta block for this latest season are “RHOA’s divas-in-residence Cynthia Bailey (pictured far left), Phaedra Parks (pictured second from left), Kandi Burruss (pictured third from right), NeNe Leakes (pictured second from right), and Kenya Moore (pictured far right).
New members to the show are radio personality, TV show host, and actress Claudia Jordan (pictured third from left) and actress Demetria McKinney (pictured above), best known for her role as “Janine Payne” on Tyler Perry‘s TBS sitcom, “House of Payne.” McKinney will also have a recurring role on the show.
The cast of “RHOA” have more than enough fodder this year, particularly since Parks’ husband, Apollo Nida, who also had a recurring role on the show, is away in prison, serving an eight-year stint for cashing stolen checks and laundering more than $2 million.
Look for “RHOA’s season opener on November 9th.
