2014 Essence Music Festival - Seminars - Day 2

In recognition of World AIDS Day, a discussion panel took place during the Essence Festival earlier this year that included Alicia Keys and Melissa Harris-Perry. Alicia Keys is well-known for her contributions in  making a difference int he world today and she is also known for being a AIDS/HIV activists. The songstress took the initiative to join the cause by becoming the voice of the people living with this disease to be heard. Alicia mentioned that her goal is to change the way people think about HIV/AIDS. To change the stigma of the disease she showed a documentary of 5 women who are currently living with AIDS/HIV and explained how they are empowered and how you too can be empowered.
