IFP's 24th Gotham Independent Film Awards - Backstage

Tessa Thompson won a Gotham Award for her role as Sam in  Dear White People. The drama/comedy was released back on October  2014 and was the cultural difference between white and black people at a PWI (Predominately White Institutions).The film was directer by  Justin Simien who was nominated for an award. Simien fell short losing to Ana Lily Amirpour who won  Best Breakthrough Director. See photos of Tessa Thompson receiving her award.
