Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Carolina Panthers

ESPN has unfortunately reported that Anchor Stuart Scott has died at age 49. Stuart Scott was the first ESPN Anchor that I know of to add a hip-hop lingo and recite rap lyrics from some of the biggest songs into his Sportscenter broadcast. Phrases like “Boo-yah” “call him butter cause he’s on a roll” and “Jason Kidd messed around and got a Triple Double” were sayings that he took from the culture and tailor made his broadcast style.

The Chicago born and Carolina native was also one of the biggest inspirations as he battled cancer head on. Scott will truly be missed and his contributions will be remembered forever.

“You beat cancer by how you live…” – Stuart Scott
