Atlanta police are seeking the suspect who pushed Jaferrell Jenkins (pictured), a paraplegic man born with cerebral palsy, out of his wheelchair to rob him of a cell phone, according to local TV station WSB-TV. The callous perpetrator left Jenkins him face down on the cold concrete after the act.

The 26-year-old Jenkins was about a block from his home when he was suddenly pounced upon from behind telling WSB-TV, “A guy runs up behind me, pushes me out of my chair, takes my cellphone, and it just happened so fast, I didn’t even get the chance to scream for help or anything.”
Jenkins, who wound up face down on the ground had to muster up the strength to pull himself up and back onto his chair — not an easy feat. The latest attack was not a first for Jenkins. Once before, he was robbed of a precious gold chain given to him by his dad before he passed away. The young man, who admits he was rattled by both thefts wonders, “…What did I do to this person for them to do that?”
The northwest Atlanta resident has, however, run up on some luck as a manager from a local Verizon store saw a news broadcast of his story and offered him a brand-new phone. “If I’m in a position to help somebody just by clicking a button, I’ll do that. Bad things happen to good people and if I can help somebody have a better day, I’m glad I’m able to do it,” Verizon manager Edward Thomas told WSB.
Police are asking anyone with information about the Jenkins theft to call Crimestoppers at 404-577-TIPS; anonymity is guaranteed.
