The end of the week cannot get here any faster for those die-hard fans of the books and movie “The Divergent Series.” Why? Because that’s exactly when “Insurgent” will make its theatrical debut.

In the second part of the science fiction action 2014 film “Divergent,” Tris (Shailene Woodley) searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Alongside Four (Theo James), they’re now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite.

Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them.  Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.

As “The Divergent Series: Insurgent” sneaks up on us and theaters nationwide, VOXXI had the time to talk with actress Zoe Kravitz who portrays Tris’ best friend Christina.

“I think in the first one we had to set up the world, introduce the characters,” Kravitz said of the first film of the series. “And this one, you’re kind of in the middle of the story. Whenever you enter something in the middle, things are already happening. The movie is just nonstop action, which makes it so much fun to watch.”

For Zoe, the 26-year-old actress and daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, getting in the role Christina comes natural to her.

“I think I know her so well, it’s kind of like visiting an old friend. It’s exciting because I get to go back to ‘Christina’, so yea… we’re similar in many ways,” she told VOXXI.

“It’s interesting playing a character where you know what’s gonna happen because of the books, so you get to make different kinds of choices and figure out where you’re gonna go with it later. So, it’s kinda like putting the pieces of a puzzle together.”

“The Divergent Series” will hit theaters in the US on Friday, March 20th.
