The Boston police officer who was shot in the face a few weeks ago has been released from the hospital.

According to Daily Mail:

Officer John Moynihan has returned home to continue rehabilitation and ‘the road to recovery promises to be challenging,’ the police department said in a statement Saturday on its website.

Moynihan, 34, was shot with a .357 Magnum on March 27 when police were responding to a report of gunfire in the city’s Roxbury neighborhood.

Officer Moynihan was looking into a driver’s window when he was shot close range. The shooter, Angelo West, was killed by other officers at the scene. Moynihan was shot right below his right eye and had surgery to remove the bullet from below his ear.

We pray for his full recovery.
