Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ UCLA saga has finally come to an end. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has chosen not to file assault charges against the hip-hop mogul. Combs was arrested on June 22 after a confrontation with a UCLA football coach escalated and turned physical. According to reports, he allegedly swung a kettle ball at the coach and was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon. His representatives claimed he was acting in self defense. “We are thankful that the District Attorney rejected Felony charges in this matter,” his lawyer Mark Geragos said in a statement. “This case never should have been part of the criminal justice system to begin with.” Read more.


Boko Haram Kills 97 In Nigeria Mosques 

The Boko Haram militant group is continuing to terrorize the people of Nigeria. According to a government official, the extremists shot more than 100 Muslims in a mosque located in a northeast Nigerian town during Ramadan. The incident occurred just a day after they murdered 48 men and children in a neighboring town. “A total of 48 males died on the spot while 17 others escaped with serious injuries,” said self-defense official Maidugu Bida. There was also a suicide bombing that took place earlier this week. Many of the people who lost their lives in the recent attacks had returned to the towns to revive villages that were destroyed by Boko Haram. Read more.


Wisconsin Man Charged With Threatening Obama

A Wisconsin man was charged yesterday for threatening to take President Barack Obama‘s life. Brian D. Dutcher, a 55-year-old Tomah native, had a warrant issued for his arrest after he made threats to kill President Obama during his visit to La Crosse yesterday. “That’s it! Thursday I will be in La Crosse. Hopefully I will get a clear shot at the pretend president. Killing him is our CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY!” Dutcher posted on his Facebook page. “I have been praying on going to D.C. for 3 months and now the upsurper is coming HERE. saving me a 800 mile trip. doing what I do for my daughter, so she can live free. pray for me to succeed in my mission.” After he was apprehended, Dutcher was held in a mental health facility. There is no word as to when he is slated to appear in federal court. Read more.


Former Virginia Senator Announces Presidential Bid

Former Virginia Senator Jim Webb has decided  that he will take a shot at running for president. Yesterday, Webb announced that he will embark on his journey to earn the Democratic nomination despite a lack of popularity and limited funds. Webb is a bit more conservative then front runner Hillary Clinton. He’s a former Republican who worked as the secretary of the Navy for Ronald Reagan. “After many months of thought, deliberation and discussion, I have decided to seek the office of the Presidency of the United States. I understand the odds, particularly in today’s political climate where fair debate is so often drowned out by huge sums of money,” said Webb. “But our country needs a fresh approach to solving the problems that confront us and too often unnecessarily divide us.” Read more.
