When artists speak their minds, sometimes it’s best we listen.

After Nicki Minaj’s wax figure was put on display at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas earlier this month, rapper Azealia Banks predicted visitors would pose inappropriately with the figure, which features the rapper on all fours. Now just weeks later, the museum has issued extra security to protect the replica of the “Superbass” rapper.

Nicki Minaj was thrilled with the likeness, which was unveiled on Aug. 5. Due to her Pinkprint tour schedule, Minaj was unable to attend, but posted a few photos on her Instagram page of the new figure.

The pose was inspired by the artist’s video for “Anaconda,” which shattered records on YouTube by amassing 20.1 million views in just 24 hours. The video also spawned memes and more, cementing its place in pop culture. While Nicki was all for it, Banks believes the rapper shouldn’t have been formed into such a sexual pose.

Last week, the “212” emcee tweeted:

Wow, they finally give nicki minaj a wax figure and it’s a statue of her bent over on all fours…… White people yo….

Nicki on the other hand, didn’t seem to mind. She posted fans getting frisky with the wax figure last week.

One specific photo of a man on top of Nicki’s figure went viral, causing Madame Tussauds to take action.

The company released a statement on Tuesday, promising that security will stand by to reduce inappropriate behavior.

“We have been made aware of the inappropriate photograph that was taken at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, involving Nicki Minaj’s new wax figure. Madame Tussauds attractions are interactive, immersive experiences, and our visitors are generally respectful towards the wax figures. It is unfortunate that this visitor decided to behave so inappropriately and we apologise for any offence this has caused. We do have staff monitoring guest behavior in the attraction and do our utmost to ensure our wax figures are treated respectfully, but on this occasion clearly one of our hosts was not present.”

As it turns out, Banks was right.
