Fans of BBC’s Luther have been rabid to find out details about a fourth season premiere for Idris Elba‘s hit show, and now everyone can finally rest easy.

The BBC network is bringing back the cop drama for a one-night special only, according to The Wrap. It will actually be a TV movie about the current state of Luther’s life, and how he deals with new realizations that come from a case he’s working on. From the BBC, the special “delivers a devastating blow that not only pulls him out of seclusion but pushes him closer to the edge than he’s ever been.”

Luther will air December 17 on BBC America.
