Sources report early this morning that Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the alleged mastermind of the Paris attack last week, has been killed in a raid. Paris Police have in fact confirmed his death, the New York Times has more:
Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the Belgian militant suspected of orchestrating the Paris terrorist attacks, was killed in a police raid in the northern Paris suburb of St.-Denis early Wednesday, the French authorities announced on Thursday.
The confirmation of Mr. Abaaoud’s death followed fingerprint analysis, the Paris prosecutor, François Molins, said in a statement. His body was heavily riddled with wounds from gunfire and a grenade detonation during the raid. “We do not know at this stage whether Abaaoud blew himself up or not,” the prosecutor’s office added.
