Satire: The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

It’s important that I give some of the people who are unfamiliar to the term the definition of “Satire” before explaining why it’s important that that you give Spike Lee’s controversial film “Chiraq” a chance. I am originally from Chicago. Born and raised on Chicago’s Austin neighborhood, I’ve seen first hand violence on every level. I know that what’s going on in the city I will always call home is nothing to joke about. I didn’t take “Chiraq” as a joke. Spike speaks on everything from racism, sexism, political corruption and breaking the “snitching” code in our own neighborhoods.

I took it as a chance to use humor to enlighten us on the issues that plagues our city.

I just wish he made a movie similar to some of his older work.
