Legendary singer Prince will release a memoir about his journey in the music industry. According to reports, the novel, published by Spiegel & Grau, will delve into how his personal life influenced his music. The publishers described the novel as “an unconventional and poetic journey through his life and creative work,” that highlights “people, places and ideas that fired his imagination.” News about Prince’s novel comes on the heels of a series of performances that he did for his “Piano & a Microphone” show, during which he shared tidbits about his personal life. “Prince is a towering figure in global culture and his music has been the soundtrack for untold numbers of people — including me — for more than a generation; his creative genius has provided the musical landscape of our lives,” said Spiegel & Grau Executive Editor Chris Jackson. “Millions of words have been written about Prince — books and articles, essays and criticism — but we’re thrilled to be publishing Prince’s powerful reflections on his own life in his own incandescently vivid, witty, and poetic voice.” The novel is slated to be released during the fall of 2017. Vanessa Williams Launches Clothing Line

Actress and former Miss America Vanessa Williams is dabbling in the fashion industry. Williams launched a clothing line on Saturday named V. by Vanessa Williams. It is available on the Evine home shopping network. “This collection is a combination of me as a professional, me as a mother, and me as what I wear for comfort around the house,” she said during a recent interview. “It’s your urban look, it’s your suburban look, it’s your casual look, and it’s your glam look, all in one.” She wanted her line to stand out from others by designing clothes that hide bra fat. “My friends and I complain about bra fat and loose arms. I’ve gone through my 30s, 40s, 50s and my body keeps changing with every decade. Yes, I’ve got bra fat and love handles. It’s a constant struggle. So, my view is don’t give up the fight, keep it moving, embrace where your body is going, and then dress accordingly,” said Williams. Read more.
