Celebrities Visit SiriusXM - May 10, 2016

While some of us are still looking for the wigs Beyoncé snatched when she premiered Lemonade on HBO a few weeks back, others are focusing more on things that matter – the key players in the hour-long film.

We’ve heard from celebrities like Serena Williams and Zendaya Coleman, but what about the roles of Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, and Eric Garner’s mothers?

While promoting her new book Tell The Truth & Shame The DevilMichael Brown’s mother Lezley McSpadden discussed her role in Beyoncé’s Lemonade film with Sirius XM.

“I felt special. She had also did some things for my son’s foundation, so at that point, whatever you want me to do, I’ll do it,” she said.

“I got there and they wanted to make me look regal. That’s what she called it. She’s just a sweet person and she’s really down to earth. She treated us well and she made sure we were comfortable.”

Lezley initially met Beyoncé along with Jay Z, Alicia Keys, and Swizz Beatz during Prince’s tribute concert in Baltimore last year.

“She didn’t come in like a celebrity,” she said. “She was wholeheartedly sympathetic, and she talked, she cried, and she shared some things with us.”

Like the rest of the world, Lezley’s very happy about the film’s outcome: “I appreciate her for being bold enough to confront things and being sensitive at the same time.

Take a listen to her interview with Sirius XM below. The book is on stands May 13.
