It appears as if rap superstar Lil Wayne is adjusting to life behind bars.  The emcee began serving a one-year sentence on gun charges earlier this month, and a source at New York’s Rikers Island says Wayne is holding up just fine.  The insider tells MTV News, quote, “He’s doing well.  He’s adapting to the situation.”  On Sunday, the “New York Daily News” reported that 13 officers and three inmates were injured during a weekend brawl, but the source says “Weezy” wasn’t involved in the melee.  The insider also says that rumors that the rapper got into a fight with another inmate shortly after his arrival are not “substantiated.”  The source did, however, point out, quote, “While he’s walking the hallways, he’s told not to communicate with these guys.  So they’re a bit disgruntled because he’s not hollering back.”

Wayne’s prison sentence stems from his arrest in 2007 when New York police found a handgun after a search of his tour bus.  He is expected to serve between eight and ten months assuming good behavior.
