Today is a big day for fans of R&B superstar Usher.

The singer will not only be releasing his new album, “Raymond v. Raymond,” but he will also serve as tonight’s mentor on Fox’s “American Idol.”  “Raymond v. Raymond” is Usher’s sixth release, and the follow-up to his 2008 record “Here I Stand.”  “Raymond v. Raymond” includes the single’s “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home),” “Lil Freak,” and “OMG.”

It also features appearances from artists like Ludacris, Nicki Minaj, T.I. and will.i.am.  Usher discussed his new album with “The Canadian Press” stating, quote, “(My fans) want honesty, they want to feel like they’ve been connected to your experience…and ‘Raymond v. Raymond’ is that.”

After spending the day enjoying Usher’s new music, fans can tune in to Fox to watch him work with “Idol” finalists on R&B and soul songs.  The singer will return to “Idol” on Wednesday night for a performance.

Tune into Fox tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern to watch Usher on an all-new episode of “American Idol.”
