It’s always been very interesting to me that 2Pac got his start in the group Digital Underground, known more for their party anthems than for the gritty street tales that made Tupac Amaru Shakur a household name.

By now, we all should know that Tupac’s first released verse was on D.U.’s “Same Song,” but before that, he appeared on D.U.’s first album, Sex Packets.  Pac co-wrote the song “Danger Zone” and can be heard at the very beginning of the record doing a little spoken part.

“Same Song” was featured in the pretty crappy Dan Aykroyd/Chevy Chase/Demi Moore flick  Nothing But Trouble, and Digital Underground, including 2pac, perform the song in the movie in front of Dan Aykroyd’s character.
