Quincy Jones is traveling to Bloomington, Indiana next month to pick up an honorary Doctorate of Music degree. InsideIndianaBusiness.com reports that the legendary producer-composer-musician will receive the honor on May 8th from Indiana University. Jones will also deliver the commencement address for the the graduating undergraduate class at the Bloomington, Indiana institution.
If you’re not familiar with his work in the music business; well it includes recordings as a solo artist and as a producer, conductor, composer, and arranger on other artists’ work. Among his most popular collaborations were his work as a producer on both the 1984 and 2010 versions of “We Are The World.”
Coming up later this Spring from Jones is “Q: Soul Bossa Nostra,” an LP of his greatest hits recorded and updated by contemporary artists.
