Highly sought after Hip Hop recording star Nicki Minaj is ready to break all kinds of records with her debut album. While dubbed one to watch in 2010, when it comes to female rappers, Minaj says expect more than just another female rapper — expect a whole new animal.
“I don’t want to do anything that sounds like what any other female rapper has done,” Minaj said when speaking of her forthcoming debut Monday, April 12. “I want to start a new lane that one day, 10 years from now, girls will say, ‘I’m more of a Nicki Minaj type.”
While a release date has not been confirmed for Minaj’s debut, which follows successful hits with Usher, Mariah Carey, Ludacris and more, sources say the album could hit stores as early as Fall 2010.
