R&B diva Alicia Keys is taking part in the search for the next “American Idol.
” The singer will serve as this week’s mentor, helping the finalists this Tuesday night perfect their choice of inspirational music. Keys will then return to “Idol” on Wednesday, as she takes part in “Idol’s” charity event “Idol Gives Back.”
Hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Queen Latifah, “Idol Gives Back” will also feature performances from stars like Elton John, Annie Lennox, Carrie Underwood, the Black Eyed Peas, and Jeff Beck. Other surprise guests are scheduled to stop by the live broadcast. Proceeds raised from “Idol Gives Back” will go to Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children’s U.S. Programs and the United Nations Foundation.
