Grammy-winning singer Rihanna has cleared up rumors that she has herpes of the mouth and that her affliction allegedly kicked off the domestic dispute with former boyfriend Chris Brown.
Rihanna, she said the alleged “herpes” is nothing more than a simple scar.
“It’s a f*cking scar,” she revealed in an interview. “On my lip. That’s there every day of my life. At first, I was like, Are you serious? First I thought people were gonna definitely know that that’s not…But when I read it, and I see that people just buy into that…Like, the minute they see it, it forms something in their head.” (Necole Bitchie)
Early rumors said Rihanna gave Brown herpes from Jay-Z.
Media reports have confirmed what we reported earlier: that Chris Brown did indeed beat Rihanna, but it’s the reason that’s even more bizarre. Sources allegedly close to Brown allege that the fight leading to the domestic violence incident occurred because Rihanna gave Chris Brown herpes. And how did Rihanna end up with an STD to begin with? Claims are that she picked it up from Jay-Z! (Inquisitr News)
Various gossip sites initially reported the fight was caused by the herpes rumor.
Bossip just exclusively learned that Chris Brown and Rihanna got into a heated argument which was reportedly about how Rihanna gave him Herpes, which resulted in him giving Rihanna a black eye. Our source tells us that there is a warrant out for his arrest and neither star will be performing or attending the Grammys this evening. You heard it here first. (Right Celebrity)
The singer has said she used her love for music as motivation to move past the domestic dispute with Brown last February.
In the GQ interview, she was asked who helped her get through the trauma of the incident. “Nobody,” she answered. “Really, just the music. And working. ‘Cause I really didn’t want to be around anybody, for them to stare at me and stuff, and feel sorry for me. So I just stayed in the house a lot. Then I started to get cabin fever. I was like, I’m going crazy in here.” (MTV)
