Rap fans looking forward to seeing Florida emcee Plies at next week’s “VH1 Hip-Hop Honors: The Dirty South” are out of luck.  On Thursday, the “Bust It Baby” rapper announced that he has canceled his performance at the show.  Plies says the ceremony conflicts with his schedule as he promotes his upcoming album, “Goon Affiliated.”  He tells AllHipHop.com, quote, “I had to make a choice between personally meeting with my fans during my album promo tour or performing at the ‘VH1 Hip-Hop Honors’ and the choice was easy – fans come first.”  Plies’ “Goon Affiliated” will drop on June 8th.

Hosted by “The Office” star Craig Robinson, “VH1 Hip-Hop Honors: The Dirty South” will feature performances from artists like Diddy, Drake, Bow Wow, Rick Ross and T-Pain.  Honorees at this year’s event include Jermaine Dupri, Luke Campbell, Master P and Rap-A-Lot Records.  “VH1 Hip-Hop Honors: The Dirty South” airs June 7th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
