It wasn’t that long after I had moved here to Indy that Kanye had a concert at the Murat inside the Egyptian Ballroom.  I remember thinking… “Damn, where are all the people”.  There were probably 300 in the ballroom.  If you have ever been to the Egyptian Ballroom for a show then you know 300 looks like 5 people in that huge room!  Kanye was not at all please either.  Backstage people were discussing Kanye being upset that the crowd wasn’t bigger.  When I finally had the change to meet him I was impressed.  He was a true gentleman.  He was not at all arrogant or carrying a “Superstar” attitude.  He was humble.  Now we also must remember that this was the beginning of his career.  People were just getting to know him.  I often wonder if his cockiness is just a character when deep down he is a different person.  I guess only those close to him will really know.

Today Kanye celebrates his 33rd birthday.  Check out the 12 O’Clock Mikki Fikki Mix today as DJ Limelight shows some love to Mr. West!
