On Sunday night R&B bassist and member of the world renowned “Isley Brothers” Marvin Isley passed away in his Chicago home due to some complications with his diabetes. Marvin was 56 Years old.

Marvin’s battle with diabetes forced him to bow out of the group in 1997. His condition worsened and he ended up needing his legs amputated shortly after leaving the group.

Marvin joined the group in the 1970’s. He is best known for his playing on songs such as “That Lady” and “For They Love of You”. He brought a different sound than what the public knew of the group in the 50’s and 60’s. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 with the group.

Our condolences go out to his family and friends as they mourn this loss. Below is one of the many Isley Brothers hits “That Lady”
