We’ve seen Wyclef ask for assistance in aiding the earthquake-shattered Haiti, Omarion encourage fans to contribute their monies to the country instead of buying his album, and fashionistas become humanitarians for a good cause.

Now, Jay-Z – who was recently named half of the “Top Earning” couple in the entertainment industry – has taken a stand. And he’s doing it the way he knows best – through music.

Swizz Beatz tweeted this over the weekend:

U2 guitarist The Edge further explained the collaboration, writing on his page, “Last night we wrote a song. Bono got a call from a producer, Swizz. He and Jay-Z wanted to do something for Haiti. So, Bono came up with the phrase on the phone, and last night we were here, we wrote a song – finished, recorded and send (sic) back to them. So, that might be the next thing you hear from us!”

We wonder what effect this will have on the country. Will every purchase of the song be donated? Can’t wait to hear it!
