Drake is speaking out about the ongoing beef his Young Money labelmate Nicki Minaj reportedly has with rapper Lil Kim. “Drizzy” spoke with MTV2’s “Sucker Free” and explained that both he and Minaj respect what Lil Kim has accomplished during her career. He states, quote, “Lil Kim is a ‘G’ in the game. She’s part of an era that’s classic, that we’ll never forget as young kids, me and Nicki.” During a concert last week, Lil Kim called out Nicki Minaj, claiming she hasn’t been “paying homage” to what Kim has achieved. Drake says he doesn’t respect Lil Kim’s comments, noting that real rappers command respect with their music and talent. He adds, quote, “To me that’s a sign that you’re just losing it. I really did take that personally…You’re supposed to be a ‘G,’ and that wasn’t ‘G’ at all.”
Drake is set to release his debut album, “Thank Me Later,” next week. The record will arrive in stores on June 15th.
