This year’s NBA Final series is shaping up to be one to talk about. It’s got drama, superstar plays, solid bench production, great coaching and until last night it was a back and forth series. Boston has now won 2 games in a row which gives them some momentum going into game 6 in LA where they hope to close out the series and get their Big 3 a Second title.
Kobe had a great showing last night scoring 38 points in a losing effort. Kobe scored 17 of his 38 in just the 3rd quarter! unfortunately the rest of the team forgot it was game 5 of the finals and couldn’t produce. It even tool Pau Gasol 4 quarters to score 12 points while everyone else on the Lakers score 9 or less. Bynum although semi injured did start and produce a solid game on the night.
Paul Pierce came through in sheer superstar fashion scoring 11 of his 27 points in the 3rd quarter. Pierce got so hot that Kobe DEMANDED he guard him the rest of the game! However that just wasn’t enough with KG putting up 18 and Allen and Rondo combining for 30 points on the night. The NBA’s Shrek and Donkey (Big Baby Davis and Nate Robinson) also contributed solid play on the night to lock in a Celtic victory.
Going back to LA, Boston seems very confident and being the 4th best road team in the league this year they should be. They already took game 2 in LA. Can they do it again? I know I picked Boston in 6 and with the back to back wins it looks like that is more than possible. Kobe will never be Jordan but don’t expect this series to end in a blowout on his home court.
The 92-86 victory did not sit well at all with LA and its fans! Game 6 will be Tuesday 6/15 @9PM EST
