Hip-hop superstars Eminem and Jay-Z were in New York on Monday for a special rooftop performance.  The duo performed a three-song set atop the Ed Sullivan Theater for a crowd of about 100 fans who earned a ticket via contests on Facebook and Twitter.  The two emcees reportedly opened with a performance of Eminem’s latest hit “Not Afraid,” and then treated fans to “Hov’s” single “On To The Next One.”  ‘Em and Jay closed out their mini-concert with a performance of their 2001 collaboration “Renegade,” which is featured on Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint” album.  Fellow rap star Sean “Diddy” Combs was also in attendance.

Eminem and Jay-Z’s concert will air Friday on “The Late Show with David Letterman” — which is taped inside the Ed Sullivan Theater.  The two will also be promoting their upcoming series of baseball stadium concerts during Friday’s episode.  They will be performing at Comerica Park in Em’s hometown of Detroit on September 2nd, and in New York’s Yankee Stadium on September 13th.  Tickets for the shows go on sale Friday.
