The troubled marriage between NBA star Dwyane Wade and Siohvaughn Wade is officially over. I wonder if Gabrielle Union had anything to do with that? Anyway TMZ.com says a Chicago judge has legally dissolved the eight-year union, allowing the two to lead single lives again. There are still several key issues to work out however, including the division of marital assets and custody of their two children. Wade commented on the divorce telling TMZ, quote, “I’m very relieved that the judge granted my divorce today. This has been a long process and I hope we can all move forward.” He added, “The most important thing to me right now is the next phase when the judge will decide on custody of our kids. That is the big event in my life that I am focused on.”
Earlier this week a Chicago-area judge ordered the Wades to get back to court and settle their divorce, saying it had dragged on long enough to the detriment of their children. The proceedings, which began in 2007, got ugly with Siohvaughn accusing the basketball star of giving her an STD. Dwyane Wade promptly filed a defamation suit against her. He recently won full custody of his two sons, ages three and eight, after Siohvaughn blocked his visitations.
