Women have made an impressive showing in Forbes’ magazine’s 2010 Celebrity power list.  Talk show host Oprah Winfrey has climbed back to the number one spot, earning an estimated 315-million dollars over the past 12 months.  Winfrey reclaimed the top spot from 2009 winner Angelina Jolie, who dropped to 18th in the latest ranking.  R&B singer Beyonce came in second with an estimated 87-million dollars from a tour, album sales and deals in fashion and other endorsements.  Film Director James Cameron, pop star Lady Gaga and golfer Tiger Woods round out the top five.  It’s the first time on the list for Lady Gaga.

Despite a global financial crisis, Forbes says the celebrity earnings remain remarkably resilient.  This year’s stars earned a collective four-point-five-billion dollars.  That’s 600-thousand dollars more than in 2009.  The magazine’s rankings are a measurement of entertainment-related earnings over the past 12 months.  Also figuring in the rankings are exposure to print, television, radio, online and social media.
