A family emergency is forcing hip-hop star Drake to cancel his upcoming dates overseas.  On Thursday it was announced that “Drizzy” will be postponing the European leg of his “Away From Home Tour” to tend to his ailing mother.  The rapper’s mom reportedly suffers from an arthritic condition and an illness that affects her whole body, leaving her feeling fatigued.  Drake says his mother will need surgery sooner than expected, adding, quote, “In light of this news, I have made the difficult decision to cancel my European tour in order to support her during her recovery, just as she supported me through the years.”  Drake goes on to say that he appreciates the support of his European fans, and looks forward to performing for them in the future.

Drake’s shows in Paris, Amsterdam and London have been rescheduled for November.  Many of his other dates were festivals, meaning he will be unable to make-up the performances.  Drake will return to the road on July 16th when he takes the stage in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
