Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie is dishing details about her lack of love at first sight with husband Josh Duhamel and gaining weight. She graces the cover of the new issue of the UK’s “Cosmopolitan” magazine. Inside, she talks about how meeting her actor husband didn’t result in any instant butterflies. Fergie says, quote, “I’d made my lists of qualities that I wanted, and you can’t find out if someone has those in a week. It was learning what he was made of that made me fall in love with him.” Duhamel is apparently made of the kind of stuff that means he’s supportive of his wife no matter what. Fergie says he liked it when she packed on additional pounds for her role in the movie “Nine.” She says, quote, “When I came home from filming, he was excited. He enjoys having both: the extra meat to grab when it’s there and the tight stomach when that’s there.”
Perhaps Fergie’s power over her man — or any man — has less to do with her figure than it does with certain aspects of her personality. She says, quote, “You know, in Italy, Catholic boys are raised to believe there are two types of women: the Madonna and the whore…And me? I’m both.”
