R&B diva Mary J. Blige won’t be sitting through any lectures this fall.  A rep for the singer tells “Us” magazine that recent rumors that Blige will be attending Howard University are not true.  The rep explains, quote, “Howard University came to her and expressed interest in having her as a student but she will not be attending.”  Speculation that Blige was heading to college began earlier this week when she told the “Times-Picayune” that she had just earned her high school diploma and had been accepted by Howard.  A rep for the University clarified Blige’s statement telling the “Washington Post,” quote, “We encourage Ms. Blige to continue her studies and welcome her consideration of Howard University in the future.  We are happy to work with Ms. Blige on completing the formal process for admission.”

While college isn’t in Mary J. Blige’s immediate future, her rep says she’s still considering taking classes online.  The rep adds, quote, “don’t rule it out at some point!  She won’t be giving up her music career.”
