There will be one less big-name collaboration on Ice Cube’s upcoming “I Am The West” album.  In a recent blog posting, Cube announced that Dr. Dre has been dropped from the record.  He writes, quote, “Many asked about Dr. Dre working on my album.  Negative, Dre has been M.I.A. for a few months now.  I asked Snoop has he heard from him and he said, no.”  Ice Cube goes on to explain that he can’t wait for Dr. Dre, as he has to turn his record in by August 20th in order to make sure its September 28th release isn’t delayed.  The rap icon adds, quote, “I’ll keep you posted if anything new develops.”

Ice Cube’s “I Am The West” is the follow up to his 2008 release “Raw Footage,” which opened at number one on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
