Nick Cannon says his famous wife is interested in working for “American Idol.” Cannon tells “The Hollywood Reporter” that Mariah Carey has talked about joining the judges’ panel on the Fox singing competition. He says, quote, “She says, ‘I would love to do that.’ She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don’t know if she has enough time…but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do ‘Idol.’ Let’s start the campaign!” Cannon adds that he has a high opinion of outgoing “Idol” judge Simon Cowell. But he says he’ll stay devoted to the show without its toughest judge. He says, quote, “As long as Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson stick around, I’m watching.” Cannon hosts “America’s Got Talent” on NBC Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
