Young Money’s first lady will be taking the stage as part of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. MTV announced on Thursday that Nicki Minaj will be performing her hit single “Your Love” during the ceremony’s preshow. The “femcee” says she’s looking forward to the opportunity stating, quote, “I am truly honored to be a part of this year’s VMAs. Just yesterday I was an underground female rapper.” Nicki Minaj will be kicking off a Twitter contest on Tuesday, giving ten fans the opportunity to win front row seats to her performance. For more information on the contest, fans can follow both @NickiMinaj and @MTVTJ. Winners will be announced on Friday, September 10th.
Nicki Minaj isn’t the only big name taking part in this year’s preshow. Audiences will get to see a preview of the upcoming film “Jackass 3D” as seen through the eyes of the “Jersey Shore” cast. Fans will also be treated to an all-new episode of “Jersey Shore” as a lead-in to the preshow. The MTV VMA preshow gets underway Sunday, September 12th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. The 2010 VMA’s will then air live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre at 9:00 p.m. Eastern. The ceremony will be hosted by Chelsea Handler and feature performances from artists like Eminem, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, and Usher.
