More information is surfacing about the weekend arrest of R&B singer Bruno Mars in Las Vegas. An attentive bathroom attendant reportedly turned the singer in to hotel security at the Hard Rock Hotel early Sunday morning. Citing a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police report, TMZ.com says the attendant told security, quote, “there was a man in the bathroom stall with possibly a man using drugs.” The attendant also claimed to see a male in a striped red shirt in possession of a “baggy of white powder substance.” Mars — whose real name is Peter Hernandez — was reportedly cooperative with police. He allegedly pulled out the bag of white powder from his jeans pocket and handed it to officers. The singer reportedly told officers that he had done a “foolish thing” and had never used drugs before. He has been charged with narcotics possession.
Bruno Mars is slated to perform on an upcoming episode of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” next month. Mars’ October 9th appearance on the sketch comedy series will follow the release of his new album, “Doo-Wops & Hooligans,” on October 5th.
