R&B singer Lyfe Jennings will be spending the next few years behind bars. Singersroom.com reports that Jennings was in an Atlanta court on Wednesday where he was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison for an incident involving his ex-girlfriend. In October of 2008, Jennings got into a heated exchange with the mother of his children, Joy Pound. During the dispute, Jennings kicked in the door of a house in Smyrna, Georgia and proceeded to fire three rounds from a 40-caliber glock into the street. The vocalist then fled the scene, refusing to stop for police. He was eventually apprehended and charged with several crimes including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, DUI test refusal, and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
On Tuesday, Lyfe Jennings delivered an ominous tweet about his future writing, quote, “This will be my last post. To everyone who gave me a chance I am forever in your debt.” Jennings released his fourth studio effort, “I Still Believe,” just last month.
