Authorities said a grumpy police horse apparently took his frustrations out on another officer’s ride.

Baker, a mounted unit cared for by Indianapolis Metro Police Officer Stephen Gorgieski, was working downtown Saturday night, when his temper got the best of him.

Police said Baker kicked in the left headlight of a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria police car at the corner of South Illinois and Maryland streets — then defecated on the hood.

Officer Jeffrey Taylor reported the incident and an evidence technician was called in to take pictures of the cruiser.

Lt. Jeff Duhamell said no disciplinary action would be taken against Baker but he could only speculate as to why the horse inflicted the damage.

“Maybe the cruiser was in his parking space,” Duhamell said. “But it seems he went back to the stable a few oats lighter.”
