The Arts Council of Indianapolis and partner organizations Asante Children’s Theatre, Indy Jazz Fest, Kenyettá Dance Company, and Madame Walker Theatre Center will present Art & Soul: A Celebration of African American Art & Artists in Indiana at the Indianapolis Artsgarden January 28 – February 25, 2017. Art & Soul, a highly anticipated annual tradition, features central Indiana African American artists in a month-long series of free programs, concerts, dance performances, and a visual art exhibition. Art & Soul is hosted by the Arts Council of Indianapolis with financial support from Lilly Endowment Inc. This year’s theme, Lift Your Voice, celebrates the rich African American traditions and empowerment through the arts.
