VH1’s Hip Hop Honors: The Dirty South was off the chain.  Usually people miss out on a good thing; so did the public want to see the awards show?

This year's event hosted by rising black comedian Craig Robinson paid homage to the "Dirty South". The program acknowledged and paid respects to pioneers Jermaine Dupri, Miami, Atlanta and Master P. Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell also performed on the South's night of recognition.

(AllHipHop News) With pointed criticism of their product from southern Hip-Hop legends Scarface and Luke, VH1 Honors executive producers Nelson George and Fab Five Freddy are defending this year’s selections and criteria.

Scarface called into the HoodHype Show last night to express his displeasure with VH1 for the “Dirty South” label that has been applied to their upcoming Hip-Hop Honors tribute to Southern MCs. //
